Travertine is a naturally beautiful stone that is formed over years of accumulation of minerals under intense pressure & heat. It is a natural mineral that is made when the minerals dissolved under water leave behind sediments on the outskirts of beaches. Because travertine is a natural stone, there is a large variety of designs, colors, and shades from which it was naturally formed.

There are 4 basic types of finishes in which travertine come in: shiny, matte, tumbled, and brushed.

With a shiny finish, the travertine surface is polished and shines in a way that is unmatched by any other shine. In the day to day construction, a matte finish of travertine countertop can be very popular. Tumbled travertine countertops are a textured & surfaced material that does not reflect light and is the most common form of stones available.

Travertine is a very popular and decades old natural stone used for various decoration purposes. As a countertop surface, it can provide a natural look of marble.
